"The dipsomaniac and the abstainer are not only both mistaken, but they both make the same mistake. They both regard wine as a drug and not as a drink."

Homemade Halloween 2008

Posted by: chapka in halloweencandyapples on

All over America, people are rediscovering flavor.  People are remembering that local, homemade and homegrown food has something to offer that mass-produced, processed, shelf-stable products can't always offer.  But there is one day that still belongs completely to processed food.

Only a few souls are brave enough to try to hand out handmade treats on Halloween.  Those who do are faced with parents who won't let their kids take them--and they know that many more of them will be thrown away, uneaten, as "unsafe" compared to the individually-wrapped and hermetically sealed candy bars they find at other houses.

This is insane.
